This is a new platform - so you are bound to have questions. We've compiled the most asked questions below, but if you can't find the answer to your question don't be afraid to get in contact! 

Will it be free to use?

Absolutely!

Once the site is launched, there will be no sign up fees and no fees to list the items you have to sell or rent. The only fee charged will be small percentage when you buy or hire something out, to cover the cost of running the site and payment processing.

What kind of items can I sell?

Everything Theatrical - it's in the name!

We want to provide a platform that is artist-to-artist, where you can find everything you need to put on your show. Our passion is live art, so whether that's straight plays, musicals, operas, dance, music etc. if it can be used in a show you can sell it. Of course, there has to be some limits and therefore we are currently developing a terms and conditions to make sure that items are safe and appropriate. All listings will go through a vetting process to ensure appropriateness.

What measures are in place to prevent fraud or scams?

By implementing these measures, our platform offers a significantly safer environment than social media marketplaces, where user verification, transaction security, and fraud monitoring are often less stringent. Our focus on security, transparency, and support ensures that users can confidently buy, sell, and rent resources within a trusted community.

Using the platform promotes sustainability in the performing arts by facilitating the reuse of pre-owned costumes, props, sets, and technical equipment, thereby reducing waste. Additionally, it minimises the environmental impact of producing new items by extending the life cycle of existing resources.

Additionally, we implement robust buyer and seller verification processes and provide dispute resolution services to handle any issues that arise.

Can I filter my search results by price, location, or category?

Yes, you can filter your search results by price, location, and category to easily find items that meet your specific criteria on the platform. We will also be adding many more filters, which will vary depending on the type of resource. Example include weight or the condition something is in, genre and even ideas for shows so if you have that nuns outfit from Sister Act, you could be helping out the next Sound of Music!

I work in theatre, can I advertise my services on this site?

We will be launching a directory alongside the marketplace for individuals to advertise their services. This will be a paid feature and we have extra requirements for those individuals that would like to do this. Whether you are theatre engineer, seamstress, writer or musician, this presents a great opportunity to be found by people making live art!

How can I provide feedback or suggestions for improving the platform?

We'd be honored to hear from you! You can share your feedback or suggestions for improving the platform by clicking on the 'Ask a Question' button on this page which takes you to our main email. We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas, our team read every message and will review and consider them for future updates!

Are there opportunities for networking and collaboration with other people on the platform?

Yes, there will be opportunities for networking and collaboration with other theatre professionals and creative artists on the platform. We will be offering community forums, discussion groups, and events where you can connect, share ideas, and collaborate with fellow theatre makers.

What kind of customer support is available if I encounter issues?

We are real people behind this platform. No chat bots, no auto-help emails. If you phone or email us you will be through to a real person who loves making live art as much as you do! As we are yet to launch the full platform, the current team is quite small but we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as we can.
